Care & Maintenance Suggestions for Carbon Steel Cookware
Daily Cleaning
• Use warm water and a soft sponge or cloth.
• For stuck-on food, simmer a little water in the pan for 3-5 minutes, then use a pan scraper.
Drying and Storage
• Dry the pan promptly and thoroughly after washing to prevent rust.
• Store in a dry place.
Re-Seasoning Your Pan
• Apply a thin layer of oil with a high-smoke point (like grapeseed oil) to the inside surface, leaving no excess oil. Only apply to the outside and handle if there are signs of rust.
• Place it upside down in a cool oven, set to 500°F and leave for about an hour.
• Allow the pan to cool only enough to handle and repeat the process 2-3 times as required
Dealing with Rust
• Scrub the rusted area with a steel wool pad.
• Re-season the pan as described above.
